David Rosen
Hi Everyone,
What a great day we had for racing yesterday! Beautiful weather (even the
cool fog in the morning was fun) and great crowds definitely made
yesterday's race a fantastic event overall! We had quite a few bikes out on
course yesterday and I know of at least one 4th place in one of the morning
races was done on one of our demo bikes. That is quite the impressive feat
in my book. As for the Clydesdale race, Sage Cycles CX bikes took 5th and
6th in a VERY hard fought race. Whoever said Clydes are slow clearly has not
raced in the BIG boy category before.
Like I posted last week, I have instituted a reservation list for the demo
bikes that I will be bringing to the Bend races this coming weekend. Since
this will be a double race weekend, a few guidelines need to be put in place
to ensure everyone has a great experience:
1. Bikes are currently only being reserved for 1 day of racing per
customer. Meaning, you can reserve a bike for either Saturday or Sunday, but
not both. This is to give other people a chance to race the bikes if they
want. IF the bike you are racing on is available on the other day, then it
will be available for use. Check with me in the morning or before your race
time to see if the bike is reserved or not.
2. In some situations, we have had 2 separate people reserve a bike
for a race, with another rider reserving the same bike for the very next
race. While I do understand the need to warm up on the bike and make sure
everything is dialed before you race, please understand that these types of
scenarios can and will occur. If this is the case, I will do my best to
juggle the schedule for the weekend so that you can be assured of racing the
bike at least one day. That being said, if you don't mind having the bike
literally dropped off before your race, we can do a quick pedal change and
seatpost adjustment and get you on your way. I will make sure the rider
before you is aware of this fact so that they can return the bike as fast as
possible.
3. Please give yourself some time to come over to the tent so that we
can get you checked in and if the bike is available a few hours early, I am
good with letting you take it out to start your warm up on it.
I think that about covers it for now. Reservations are based on first come/
first serve. I will try to let people know as quick as possible, but if
conflicts arise, I will look to have a final answer on scheduling by Friday.
As usual, bring your pedals, saddle height measurement (if you want it to be
as close as possible), and a credit card and ID so I have something to hold
onto while you are out with the bike. You will sign a waiver release form
before you leave with the bike, and then you are good to go.
It was really great seeing everyone out there yesterday and all of the
feedback we got on the bikes was SUPER POSITIVE. Also, one final note, due
to the fact that we had a few flats yesterday in the last 2 races of the
day, I will be bringing a set of pit wheels that will be available for each
race during the day. I know this may seem obvious, but these pit wheels are
for SAGE CYCLES DEMO BIKES ONLY. When you pick up your bike, check with me
on their location and what make/ model they are so you can have a smooth
transition in the pits should you need to stop in.
Don't forget to ask about the special promotion we are running for a limited
time. If you like the bikes, this is something you are going to want to take
advantage of. Stop by the tent if you want to learn more.
Thanks to Crusade crew for putting on such AWESOME events!
Sincerely,
Dave
