shoe modification

Does anyone know of a cobbler or other place in town that does quality sole modifications?

Due a leg length discrepancy, I use a shim under one pedal cleat. I'm all set for the shim under the cleat itself, which works fine on road pedals. For MTB pedals, I need a corresponding shim on the shoe tread itself, so that there is contact between the pedal body and shoe tread around the cleat. I've been Shoe-Gooing a section of rubber, which usually lasts about a month before either the glue breaks free or the rubber shim wears away, so I'm looking for something more permanent. And if there's any walking involved (commuting, MTB riding), it wears out much quicker.

So I'm looking for someone that build up the tread with something that is durable and not dependent up on a Shoe-Goo bond. It appears that Mountain Soles is no longer doing work like this, so I was hoping someone else in the PDX area could help me out.

Any ideas?
