Hey. See below regarding meeting. Lets make a difference. NUMBERS COUNT!!!!!
Any of you who can make this or comment to Parks Dept. in any way could sure help get your kids (and you) maybe some places (not paved) where we can just ride our bikes without loading them into or on the fossil fuel monster and traveling one or two hours. I mean what is the meaning of Portland being a Cycle Friendly and Green City? Just because gasoline prices are dropping does not mean we should burn more of that crap!!!!
Thanks if you can help yourself and others.

Dear Ron,

Want to make a difference to the Portland mountain biking scene? Want more access to mountain biking trails in Portland? Here is your chance!

Portland Parks seeking Community input:

Please consider attending this community meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday, Nov 12th, 5:30pm) put on by Portland Parks & Recreation to discuss the River View Natural Area (see info below). Portland Parks is currently in the process of creating a Management Plan (which includes a recreation plan) for the River View area and looking for input from the community. This meeting is a big chance to help influence the trail design for the River View Area. Regardless if you ride the River View area, this is your chance to show Portland Parks that there are many mountain bikers in Portland looking for a close in place to ride. We need all types of mountain bikers represented at this meeting to let them know what you would like to see for a recreation trail plan.

When: November 12, 2013 at 5:30-7:30 PM.
Where: PDX Church, 125 SW Miles St, Portland, OR 97219
Details:
http://www.portlandoregon.gov/parks/62001
or
http://nw-trail.org/event/2013/11/3724

More info about Riverview:
The River View area is a 146-acre forested parcel of land that was purchased in 2011 by Portland Parks. The land is located west of the Sellwood bridge between the cemetery and Luis & Clark College and is a close in trail that is prime for mountain bike trails.
Talking Points:
a.. Let it be known that you are a mtn biker (write it on the sign-in sheet, say it a lot, offer your public comment)
b.. Use examples. Sandy Ridge on BLM Land. easyCLIMB trail in Cascade Locks. Ventura Park in Portland.
c.. More single track trails in Portland.
d.. Having mountain bike receational opportunities for kids and families to ride
Thank you for your support...Together we can make a difference!
