Hello OBRA land,

No matter where you are in your training plan, whether you are closing out your Cyclocross season and just want something to do during the "off-season" or prepping for the 2014 road season, strength training is essential for being fast and comfortable on the bike.

We are excited to be offering Strength for Endurance Athletes classes at Hosmer Chiropractic Health in NW Portland. Come and join us Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30-8:00pm at 1030 NW Marshall St. You can register at the door with Cash or Card. Mention this OBRA post and the first class is free for you! Make sure to check the schedule on the clinic blog often for clinic closures and class times.

All classes are led by USAC Coach and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Karey Miles. These classes are small in size which ensures that you get individualized attention and focus from your instructor. Karey works with many different levels of athletes and specializes in working with athletes recovering from injury who are ready to get back into training and racing.

Each class includes dynamic warm up, multi-modal strengthening exercises and mobility-focused cool down (foam rolling, trigger point ball, and stretching) to encourage proper recovery, increase flexibility and reduce chance of injury. We incorporate a full-body workout at each session - these exercises will help you be strong on the bike as well as build functional strength for every day activities.
