I drove over Santiam Pass to Salem and back today. Some ice, really cold, but no chains needed.

Passes look like areas packed snow and and ice... No new snow is expected
and it's going to be plenty cold, so getting over the pass shouldn't be a
problem. No chains required according to Odot.
