For those that don't know, Jim Merz Built fine road bikes here in NW
Portland until the early 80's when he went to work for Specialized as a
design consultant.
This bike was made (I believe) in 1980. It has Full AX including the seat
post. The only non AX is the Cinelli bar and stem. The bars are stitched
with leather wrap.
Spokes are aero section laced to Araya Aero 2 tubulars.
The tires are original and have all their tread. That tells me the bike
has been stored for about 33 years and ridden about a few hundred miles at
most.
The tires still hold air.
This bike was made to be as aerodynamic as possible and features internal
routed wires which was cutting edge at the time.
I also have the pedal adapters so it is possible to use any 9/16" pedal.
I sacrificing for $1000.
