Holiday / end of year time.
You may never have heard of JJ Cale, but he influenced so many guitar players and wrote many classic songs. We lost him this summer of a heart attack (he was a chain smoker....go figure). He was a man of great creativity and conviction. He even told Dick Clark that he would not lip sync “Crazy Mama” on American Bandstand, packed up his instruments and left. One of my music heroes. I am sure you have heard many other’s versions of his songs. He was 20’ from stardom (movie) like so many other back-up singers. Mostly invisible, doing the hard work that makes others look good.........
Remember to give to those in need if you can manage. Imagine no little heat or food in these temps, or nothing new for the other kids to see when back to school.
Happy Holidays and I hope you get to some good Christmas music beside all the regular stuff mass media tell us to like. For example, Charles Brown’s Cool Christmas Blues. “Merry Christmas Baby”.
We all know music can motivate us to ride our bikes.
