Good morning!
Are you finding your training isn’t coming
along as hoped? Experiencing issues with muscle aches and or weakness? Low
back acting up after climbing or just a long day in the saddle? Shoulders
and neck feeling stiff long after you’ve finished your ride?
It’s possible your have muscle imbalance and that can lead to those
issues as well as hold you back from performing at a higher level. It is
important to focus on improvement in movement patterns for
improved performance, not just the muscle group you think
is weak. Discovering and correcting weak links in your body will result in
better performance. Example: A weak back can prevent you from climbing and
recovering faster. Tightness in your hip can also keep you from staying
with group. If you are a runner, these muscle imbalances could prevent you
reaching your 5k, half marathon, 50k goal. The screenings can be used for
any athlete or non athlete. You don't have to experience
an ongoing problem to benefit, everyone has different needs to reach their
goal.
Before you continue on or start a training program, come
through a screening to find those imbalances and get a customized strength
and stretching program compliment your training, improve your fitness, and
help prevent injury. I will look at how you move as a whole and then break
it down. How you squat, lunge, and twist can show asymmetries which could
be holding back better performance. The exercises given to you can be done
at home or at the gym. Around the 5th week you will start
noticing a difference on and off the bike.
