*Movin' on Up *Ruckus
Composites has expanded into a new laboratory.

At Ruckus Composites we have been working towards a dream of building an
amazing Carbon Fiber Support Center for both consumers and industry folks
that want to learn about bicycles, science and materials.

The new Ruckus Composites Lab now has enough room to add some serious
firepower to our carbon fiber resources and help us realize this dream.

- We are working on installing a large paint booth in January.
- We have added a U-Print SE Plus 3D printer to better serve our
fabrication, prototype and fixture departments.
- We have added some industrial metal working equipment to expand the
number of things that can be made in house.
- We are installing a carbon fiber educational showroom so when you
visit Portland you can learn more about carbon fiber:
- We will have frames cut into sections so you can see what the
inside of a frame looks like and the different techniques of
manufacturing.
- We will have wheel sections on display to highlight the
manufacturing process.
- We have examples of different types of molds.
- We will have the raw materials on hand so you can see and touch
them.
- We are developing new thermal imaging technique with FLIR Thermal
Imaging to better inspect for non-visible damages
- We have an office with a new chair!
- We have our own employee lounge and conference nest.

Over 2014 we are rolling out three levels of support
infrastructure: individual customers, bike shops and manufacturers. We have
been compiling years worth of data on thousands of frames and components
and have started utilizing statistical modeling to discern and gleam a
deeper understanding of bicycle failures and their causation.

We will continue to announce these new tools when they are done being
developed and ready for prime time. We may also put some more things into
space this year.
