Just as a heads up- the author of the proposed rule has withdrawn it.
I'll change the PDF to reflect that.

Sounds like a rule only the UCI could love. Whose bright idea is this
anyway?

It sounds like whoever proposed this one should speak up or I expect
it's going down in OBRA Chat soaked flames...

by the way, this would have meant 15 riders from 3 teams would have been at last years obra crit champs and 24 riders would have been sent home. Same in the road race with just 3 teams, although 22 riders this time, and again 24 riders sent home.

Sorry, bad idea.

Thank you for bringing that one up. I will make sure that my team is aware of this and votes against that one in particular. Seems very odd, I am curious the reason it was thought to be needed? I would be pissed if I was told I could not do the obra crit championships because I don’t have a team ... as would a few others.

Maybe this isn't the place, but what triggered the Cat 1/2 "team" rule for consideration? Seems against the grass-roots nature of OBRA and frankly a little nonsensical. More to the point, if I, by some stroke of luck/training, make it into Cat 2 on the road (come on... not THAT big of a stretch...;) ), I'm all of the sudden barred from major races because my team is made up of 4 other trackies?

ANyone can suggest rule changes. That is the purpose of the annual meeting. To discuss and vote on possible changes.
I agree that this particular one seems to be against the inclusiveness that OBRA works so hard to encourage.
In my humble opinion, i would vote against all of the proposed changes.

Maybe this isn't the place, but what triggered the Cat 1/2 "team" rule for
consideration? Seems against the grass-roots nature of OBRA and frankly a
little nonsensical. More to the point, if I, by some stroke of
luck/training, make it into Cat 2 on the road (come on... not THAT big of a
stretch...;) ), I'm all of the sudden barred from major races because my

Teams that were official OBRA teams in 2013 are eligible to vote at
the annual meeting.
