Also in regards to rule 15.5.9, when some one is in the middle of the road, it makes it very difficult to pass some one while staying out side of the drafting box with out crossing the center line of the road.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Friendly Reminder - Jack Frost
Toady at Jack Frost I was the Chief Referee. I had to field several issues with locals, but out of the people I chatted with most had the same problem, that being they were stuck behind racers that were riding on the yellow centerline in the middle of the road.
Please realize that there are rules in place (15.5.9 Positioning on Road) in the rule book that specifically states, "In a time trial, riders shall ride as close to the right side of the road as practical." Yes, there were areas on course where there was debris or gravel that forced you off the fog line, but riding in the middle of the road is not always the safest idea and is against the rules. Today's road was not closed to traffic, so riding on the yellow line or riding 2+ abreast after the finish should be avoided to allow local traffic to pass safely.
This is the first race of the season, the first of many very common names on the schedule, and there are lots of people on both sides of the bike issue. Many people love us and the money we bring to their small communities and many people wish we would go away. Please make sure you are representing your teams and the racing community at large by following OBRA rules and the rules of the road.
Thank you,
Scott Jones
Chief Referee
