I think RAAM may have bitten themselves in the behind when they pulled the plug on all RAAM qualifiers except for their own events. Race Across Oregon, Furnace Creek 508, Hoodoo 500, and the other qualifiers are well run events and did a good job of preparing hopeful RAAM competitors and crews for the epic cross country race. To decide that only in house events can now qualify hopefuls smacks of a money grab. I don't know about others, but I know that the current turn of events has soured my enthusiasm for working with the RAAM organization.
