Hi Matt-
The process is that I send out a notice asking for bids. I then
select a panel of three individuals- an experienced official, board
member and racer (sometimes one of them is a promoter). They each
evaluate the applications and then a decision is made. The best way
to know the criteria is to take a look at the app. I can send you one
if you'd like.
Some year it ends up defaulting to a race as there are no other applicants.
I'm definitely looking for having Pickett's as a championship race in
the future too! (I told Gina to reapply when the time comes!)
