PRE-Registered riders will have their own express line! PLEASE complete a paper waiver before you stand in the registration line so we can just hand over your bib number and you'll be good to go! Of course, for those of you that did an online waiver you can skip this step.
Thanks!!

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Kruger's Kermesse (This Sunday!) - Final Updates & Reminders
Hey everyone,
I like to share a couple important final updates about tomorrow's Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit & Bike Relay :
1) Final Course Update: all systems are go!
This afternoon, we set up the course and a bunch of racers came out to pre-ride laps. With the summery weather of the last week (including today) and another day of intensive mowing and raking, the course is in top shape, 100% dry and very fast. And the farm is just beautiful this time of the year... just check out all the pictures we took and posted on the Portland Racing flickr page:

The 10am race (Beginners, Juniors, and all Women except Women A) will feature 1.3 mile laps and will not include the course extension in the back. The 11am race (all other solo categories) will include the course extension with laps about 1.8 miles long. For the relay, we will use the shorter course, possibly even further shortened (depending on course conditions and number of relay teams) to increase the frequency of relay exchanges and the related fun factor.

2) Food & Beverages - Plenty of food choices but no beer on sale tomorrow!
While the folks of Kruger's Farm Market will be all-hands-on-deck tomorrow serving hot food - including roasted corn, baked potatoes (served with veggie chili or sour cream), and grilled sausages (4 varieties, all locally produced) - they ran into a last minute snag with their beer sale permit and there won't be any beer on sale tomorrow (there will be plenty of choice of non-alcoholic beverages). That said, we are not planning to actively police everyone's post-race hydration habits, as long as everyone is responsible. And, yes, we still will have plenty of HUB beer primes up for grabs.
3) Registration and bib numbers:
Day-of-registration will be open tomorrow from 8:30am until 15' before each race. Please make sure to bring your OBRA membership card or any other proof of current membership. We will use custom tyvek bib numbers that - like in cyclocross - you will have to pin up at the left in a camera-readable fashion, using at least 4 safety pins.
4) Final cal-up & startlist:
Here is the final list with the close to 250 pre-registered racers: http://www.portlandracing.com/kermesse/call-up-list.html
We will do call-ups for both solo race heats, starting 15' before the start of each race heat.
5) Relay Race: Fast, furious & fun!
We have about 50 relay teams pre-registered, so there are still up to 30 relay team slots up for grabs tomorrow. By the time we kick off the relay, all lines on the course will be fully dialed, so expect a fast and furious race. And while this race will be scored like the solo races, we put this one in the first place on or fun. Therefore, we ask everyone to race in good sportsmanship and with plenty of consideration of the safety of other riders on the course.
That's it. Hope to see you all at the farm tomorrow!
~Kris
