First take the wheels off the bike, place in truing stand, and spin
them slowly. If the wheel is making some litttle "tapping" noises it
could be residual glue fom gluing the rim that may have dripped down
into the rim holes and are now loose little clumps. This can happen
when too much glue has been applied to the rim. You make also want to
check the tension on all your spokes. Another option is to put
another set of wheels on your bike and try the same tests you did--
sitting and standing on the pedals. If you then get the same sounds,
it's not your tubular wheels. It could be a number of things that are
resonating through your frame -- bad bearings in a pedal; bottom
bracket that may have loosened just a bit; loose saddle on seatpost;
stem clamp that creaks when force is applied, etc. Good luck!
