I did the CAT 5 race. It was a bit nerve racking trying to avoid the skateboarders shown in the video, who were all over the road, and I almost took out the older couple walking against traffic as I rounded the bend and could not see them until the last moment. On the same corner earlier, a guy with two dogs tied together ran into the road from a side path and I went between him and his dogs running over the dog leash he thankfully dropped. Despite these near death occurrences, the worst moment of all was when I checked the results and my name was not listed.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I have contacted Portland Parks and Rec to see exactly what actions I can take to make sure we are all safe at ever race we do at Mt. Tabor.

2 solutions we will be using on Saturday are 1. The course marshals will have whistles to tweet and let people know each time riders are coming. 2. We will find a way to block the top of the course off with ribbon, rope, barbed wire....etc...

Any other suggestions, please send me an email.

Kevin Thompson

ps. we still need several volunteers (race for free) please sign up here: http://www.mttaborseries.com/circuit Clink on a link at the top of the weekly volunteer spots on the right hand side.
