July 12 race day is fast approaching and the course is working into fine
shape. The last of the snow melted off a couple weeks ago and all of the
blow-down has been sawed out. A couple of us were up today brushing and
doing some trail digging on the sweet descent at the finish of the race.
There is just a little minor work to do at the far end of the course but
otherwise everything is good to go now. About half the course is flagged
with checkered yellow ribbon and checkered pink ribbon. In general, the
pink ribbon is the return route. It all should be flagged soon and the
course will be marked a few days out from the race.
In the next few days we will be putting up more maps and race information
at the race website at http://www.LaGrandeRide.com/roundabout-spout We're
getting a little rain later this week that will keep the dirt fast and fun.
We look forward to seeing you on race day.
