Car Break-In at Brown's Camp

On a similar note, some friends and I shuttled ATCA in Oakridge this
weekend. When we got back to the red covered bridge, the people parked next
to us informed us that some tweakers on the other side of the parking lot
had been feeling around under the bumpers of our truck, hoping to find
keys. Luckily they didn't find them. They were driving a white mini-van
with California plates. So either start carrying your keys, or do a damn
good job of hiding them....

That sucks. I wonder if the Tillamook tweeker that was breaking in a few years ago is out of jail. I hope police reports were filed and make sure that ODF is informed.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Car Break-In at Brown's Camp

Hey MTBers,
Never fun to post this, but a few teammates and I headed up to Brown's Camp after work tonight, and while the good news is that the trails are in pretty good if slightly overgrown shape, the bad news is that we came back to a broken in car with all of our backpacks gone. We hadn't left any valuables visible or anything, but it was quiet at Gales Creek and I guess for some thieves, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Just a reminder that when you're at quiet trailheads to make sure that your vehicle doesn't look like there's anything worth stealing inside of it. I think all of us had gotten a little complacent and its now going to be a huge pain for each of us to fix the damage that theft causes.

Hey MTBers,
Never fun to post this, but a few teammates and I headed up to Brown's Camp after work tonight, and while the good news is that the trails are in pretty good if slightly overgrown shape, the bad news is that we came back to a broken in car with all of our backpacks gone.
