Today's the day, the first race of the Tensegrity Short Track Series. I have been around picking up prizes and there is a buzz in the air, people are excited about this new race.

Speaking of prizes! We have a bunch of cool prizes to hand out each week for primes, these will not be your typical first person primes, we are going to come up with some fun ones each week. Between tacos, fun bike stuff and cash the completion for the lantern rouge might be fierce.

Big thank you to Life Cycle, Hutches Bicycles, Bicycle Way of Life, and Tacovore for all the prizes and Digital Distillery Media for the Flyer work.

We hope people join us for each week after the races at Tacovore, though the first and the last are special events you shouldn't miss.

Tonight after the race we invite all of our friends to join us for tacos, it's the Goats (Greater Oakridge Trail Stewards) Pints for a Cause fund raiser. The Goats group is one of the key teams in doing trail advocacy, trail work and riding bikes in the Oakridge area. Come out and support a great cause, support our sponsors and have a awesome taco and cold beer while your at it!

The series awards will be at Tacovore after the last race of the series. All prizes will be handed out then, must be present for the best prizes!

Racers, be ready to race! The loop is about 1 mile long with approx 75 feet of elevation gain and loss, with a mix if dirt, gravel and cross field fun (no pavement). In a couple practice laps we were doing 4:00-5:00 laps, it's going to be fast and fun. Who will take the first race win? There are some strong riders going right now with the Road and MTB season happening, of course you have the hardcore cyclocross racers getting their legs going. Should be a battle across all categories!

The Tensegrity team has stepped up with the race and the volunteers. Remember to give a big thank you to everyone out there helping out. I owe them a debt of gratitude as without their help the race would not happen.
