A couple of weeks ago I attempted to enter the Portland Int'l Raceway site for some impromptu mountain bike cruising on the grass under the cottonwoods, next to the moto course. I was stopped at the gate by a security office who informed me that I would have to pay ten bucks to enter the site, even for an hour of bike riding. I hadn't tried to do this in awhile so I don't know when they started charging admission; but it did bug me. I politely thanked the guard, turned around and rode home.

Tomorrow night I'd like to go and watch some cyclocross racing at PIR (Trophy Cup series). But I'd like to know, before I schlep all the way down there on my bike, if I will be charged that ten bucks just to enter the site. Can someone please advise? Thanks much --Beth
