I wasn't going to say anything about this but I saw the error again in a flier that came in the mail. There seems to be some that believe the climb from government camp to timberline has a gain of 3000 feet. The elevation at government camp is about 4000 feet. The elevation at Timberline(the old lodge, probably 75 feet higher than the race finish) is 6000 feet. So, the gain is a little less than 2000 feet.
