Hello,

If you haven't heard yet, there are 4 natural areas acquired by Metro that are in process to be developed for recreation. These properties are ones you're all familiar with as they lie just off Skyline adjoining Newberry and McNamee roads.

Here is an overview of the areas being discussed: [ http://www.oregonmetro.gov/sites/default/files/Community%20event%20materials.pdf ]( http://www.oregonmetro.gov/sites/default/files/Community%20event%20materials.pdf )

There is a community meeting planned for December 2nd, 5:30PM at the Skyline Grange. Allowing bikes on trails is currently very much a possibility - however if we don't attend this meeting and give voice to our perspective we may lose out. These are the town hall meetings where people who love to run bikes off the road enjoy attending and ranting at. So, we need numbers there. If possible, please attend this meeting and voice your support for cycling on trails.

Until we can sway opinion on Forest Park itself, this is our next best opportunity for natural surface riding within riding distance of Portland.

If you're not able to attend the Dec. 2nd meeting, you can still voice your opinions and support by emailing metro directly on this: [ mailto:naturalareas@oregonmetro.gov?subject=North%20Tualatin%20Mountains%20natural%20areas%20project ]( mailto:naturalareas@oregonmetro.gov?subject=North%20Tualatin%20Mountains%20natural%20areas%20project )[ ]( mailto:naturalareas@oregonmetro.gov?subject=North%20Tualatin%20Mountains%20natural%20areas%20project )

They're looking for community feedback - lets not miss this opportunity.
