Portland Parks Meeting this Wednesday at 6PM

2015-01-05

The purpose of this Portland Parks meeting is to review the proposed budget for next year and listen to the public about priorities they may have missed (new bike infrastructures!) during their internal budget process. Remember the NWTA planning petition? We have 2500 signatures supporting it and we will be officially handing it over the petition and asking Commissioner Fritz and the committee to consider funding the city wide mountain bike master plan process. There will be a brief presentation by Parks, then an opportunity for NWTA to present our petition as well as any other interest groups. Then the group will break up into smaller groups to dialog directly with Parks staff. This is the chance for you to talk with Parks about important issues impacting your local parks and community centers including biking on non-paved surfaces.

If you have kids who like to mountain bike, please bring them also. This plan will shape our future and their future opportunities in the City of Portland.

Come with a positive attitude; remember Portland Parks is our partner. The image of mountain biking is changing thanks to our well behaved but persistent attendance at these types of events.
