2003 Hood River Cyclocross Classic

Sunday, September 28, 2003

Presented by: Disco Velo, Discover Bicycles, New York City Sub Shops, and Hood River Valley High School

Join us out in Hood River for a great way to kick off the cross season. Same great location as last year, same great course! Bring the whole family and enjoy a beautiful late summer/early fall day in the Columbia River Gorge.

Start Times

10:30am ? Kiddy Cross Race (4-7 years, 8-12 years. 4-7 group will do a special course on the grass. 8-12 group will do one lap of race course with adult volunteers)

11:00am ? Juniors, Cat. C (beginners), Masters 45+, Women 35+ (40 minutes)

12:00pm ? Cat. B, Women (45 minutes)

1:00pm ? Cat. A, Masters 35-44 (60 minutes)

Registration

Registration opens at 10:00am and runs until 15 minutes before each race. Pre-registration can be sent to: Jeff Lorenzen, 7060 Hwy 35, Mt. Hood, OR 97041.

Include standard OBRA release. Checks payable to Disco Velo. Fees are $18 for Cat. A, $10 for Juniors, free for Kiddy Race, and $15 for all other categories. OBRA membership is required. One-day licenses can be purchased race day for $5.

Prizes

Men A: $250 7-deep

Men B: $100 6-deep

Women A: $150 6-deep

All other categories will be competing for ribbons and merchandise. Additional prizes may be added if promoter gets his act together.

Directions

Race is at hood River Valley High School. From I-84 East or West, take exit #62. At the top of the off-ramp, turn right, then immediately turn right again onto Country Club road. Take the first left turn (less than a mile) onto Frankton Road. Follow Frankton up the hill to the stop sign. At the stop sign, take a left on Belmont. Stay on Belmont to the high school, which will be on your right. (Belmont changes name to Indian Creek Drive, but it should be pretty clear where you are). If you are coming from Bend, take Highway 35 down to Odell, then follow signs through Odell to Hood River/Tucker Road. Tucker Road will bring you to Windmaster corner. High School is straight ahead.
