College teams

UO, OSU, and UW all have active cycling club teams that compete in the

NWCCC (northwest collegiate cycling conference). UW is probably the

closest to a velodrome unless you want to go to school in Canada. The

conference isn't big enough to support anything other than a road racing

season right now, but individual riders can still qualify to go to

collegiate mtb, cross, and track nationals. All of the northwest

college teams are student funded organizations, meaning that we don't

have any scholarships or athletic department funding, just whatever the

university's respective club sports departments give us plus fundraisers

and sponsorships. Contact info for all of the NWCCC schools can be

I have been contacted by someone who is looking to go to a college that is

near a velodrome. He has asked me about college teams in Oregon. I have to

admit that I know little about this subject. Can anyone give me more info?
