Dear Citizen-Racers,

This coming Saturday many of the world's strongest ultra-endurance cyclists will converge on our state to take part in the Trans America Bike Race. This event is a single-stage road race covering 4,233 miles from Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia. The rules are simple. Riders race unsupported without follow vehicles and without teams. No outside help other than commercial establishments are allowed. There are no medals, no prize money, no fame or glory. The record for covering the course is 17 days and 16 hours set last year by the legendary Mike Hall.

The race is epic enough that a movie was filmed about it:

Go race the Hammer Velo Crit then sit back and watch the wee little blue dots of the racers make their way across the U.S.

Feel free to follow my blog and find out how a newbie ultra-endurance cyclist goes about preparing and racing this event:

If you feel like you have what it takes, come join us. Registration is free and open to all.

Cheers,
