>I couldn't care less about the reservoirs so long as there is a road to race on!

Would there not be a road to and / or around the proposed soccer fields? Things change.

I'm sure there were a lot of Wheelmen that complained about those confounded safety bikes!

Wheelmen, by the way, were responsible for many of the first paved roads in America.

I'm sure whoever uses the water from the reservoirs cares a lot!

In these days of ever fattening kids I think a little soccer or whatever gets them outside is great!

If you've ever enjoyed cycling, racing, or being a spectator at Mt. Tabor in

Portland, it?s not too late to save the reservoirs, or at least ensure a

strong voice for cycling interests in the redesign of the park. Preliminary

plans for construction have the section of road that crosses the upper

reservoirs covered to become a soccer field, which will eliminate the loop

used for the Mt. Tabor series. It is not too late to have a voice-

selection process for a park architect just began last week, and the whole

project is still very much up in the air. There is plenty of time to push

for a resolution that saves cycling in the park.

Rally and March to Save the Reservoirs at Mt. Tabor

This Sunday, 9/27

Meet at Hawthorne and 41st at 12:00 Noon

March to the reservoirs and circle them at 1:00pm

Organizers are expecting a few thousand people to show, and it should be a

lively crowd.

Bring your bike and bull horn. Find your way to the upper road and make

your opinions known!
