All, I know it is only June but not too soon to start thinking about Junior
Cyclocross coming this September.
This year the OBRA Junior Cyclocross Series is making a change to the High
School team competition. We are changing the team format to "Any Junior
Team" (from High School team).
That's right. Any three Juniors can form a team. Men, Women, 10 to 18.
Anyone can make a team. I hope that all OBRA teams will have at least one
Junior team. OBRA Friends, High School friends, Middle School friends, you
can make your own team.
The team competition will be run in parallel to the individual competition.
Just like the Individual JCS (Junior Cyclocross Series) it will be the best
4 out of 5 races for the team competition.
Any Junior can be on a team, but only one team. Who will emerge victorious
as the best Junior team in OBRA for 2015? We will have to wait and see.
Stay tuned for more information about the JCS Schedule this year, and the
process for creating a Junior team. Scoring will be similar to the past High
School team competition. Top three finishers for a team, per race, will
accrue points based on a TBD points & age distribution schedule. Obviously
it is best to have more than three on a team. Men's and Women's points are
equivalent. Young and Older Junior points are equivalent.
Let me know if you have any questions. This should be fun!
