Hi Everyone,
I hope this email finds everyone well. I apologize for the mass email but
I would like to spread the word regarding this year's inaugural Youth
Superweek Series to be held in conjunction with the elite races (details
below). We are trying to keep participant's costs as low as possible with
host housing and with many of the racing being free of charge. Currently
we are half way to a full field with 25 riders already registered and will
be enforcing this limit so please register ASAP.
Please feel free to forward along this email to anyone you feel would be
interested and let me know if you have any questions.
Below is the description for BC Youth Superweek:
*BC Youth Superweek Description*
Race distance: Riders will race for approximately 20 minutes (15 minutes
plus 2 laps, boys and girls combined but scored seperately)
Ages Categories:
Girls* born in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002
Boys* born in 2000, 2001, and 2002
*Races are open to all riders however given the anticipated level of
competition and speed of the events it is recommended that participants
have some racing experience. To find out more about getting involved bike
racing and for information on youth cycling programs in your area please

proof of travel medical insurance.
**Field size will be limited to 50 riders total (boys and girls). Please
register early to ensure a spot.
It is hoped that we will have a "morning spin with the pros" one one day
during the week (likely Thursday morning, post Gastown).
*Events in BC Youth Superweek*
July 11 Tour de Delta Ladner Criterium
July 13 Mission Raceway Criterium (longer event: 30-40min)
July 14 UBC Grand Prix Criterium
July 15 Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix Criterium (Boys and Girls winners
will get to fire the starting gun for the elites)
July 16 Giro di Burnaby Criterium
July 17 Tour de White Rock Criterium
July 19 Valley Gran Fondo (low/no cost entry for youth and deep discounts
for parents)
*Equipment*: While not compulsory, a road bike is highly recommended.
Bikes must to be in good working order. Any rider with a bike that is
deemed by race officials to be unsafe (for example non-functional brakes)
will not be allowed to participate.
*Cost:* For all races in the series (apart from the Mission Classic) entry
is free.
*Accommodation*: We will make every effort to coordianate host housing for
out of town riders (indicate your need for host housing when registering)
