Benton County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service, and about a half dozen gun shops have sponsored a quarry range cleanup party from 9:00-14:00 on the 20th, the same day as the MPHCTT.
They'll be driving up the road, obviously, plus doing no shortage of shooting at the quarry range. Competitors should expect some traffic congestion and the sound of gunfire. Hopefully the gun-folk will be mostly already at the range by the 10:30 race start time. The return trip shouldn't pose a problem anyway, since riders will be going traffic speed on descent.
This doesn't have to cause any problems, if everyone knows what's up and comes prepared with a little extra grace.
Good luck!
