bicycle and motorcycles and related equipment on September 16th in Chicago.

Among the items for sale are Missy Giove's 1994 world championship winning

bike (listed at $4-5K), bicycle head badges (4-6K), numerous old bikes and

other collectibles. Much of this stuff is too expensive for anyone but the

serious collector, but it is still fascinating to see some of the stuff

available."

"Bicycles are also among the superstars of the auction - from 19th-century

ordinaries to balloon tires. Many come from the great Chicago collector,

Mark Mattei, including a 1902 Dursley Pedersen. Its bracing wires, combined

with one of the earliest three-speed hubs known to cycling, made the Dursley

Pedersen a very advanced bicycle for its day."
