This was sent to me today:
Tour de France organizers on Thursday unveiled the 2004 course which
contains an individual time trial on the famed Alpine peak for the
first time and just four days from the finish ??..the mythic Alpe
d'Huez stage has been transformed into an uphill time trial in the
third week of the world's most famous bicycle race.
.....Armstrong has shown in the past what he can do on d'Huez but with
only four days to the finish of the tour this could upset a lot of
apple carts and make for a very interesting finish to the tour.
Climbers who still have something left could find this a chance to
blast their ways to a top time.
Just thought OBRA might like to ponder this while enjoying the last of
this indian summer.
