Yesterday was my first visit to Eugene for cyclocross and I have to say I was duly impressed. It was a really well-organized event - the promoters and officials did an awesome job and the course was super fun. The race doubled as an OBRA Junior Cyclocross Series round and the track provided for some really good racing for the young athletes. I also liked the format of having the junior race sandwiched by the masters early and As and SSs late (allowed me to redeem my flat in the masters). And it felt like good old fashioned home-grown CX - smaller fields, lots of positive energy, and good racing. All in all a great time and well worth the trip from Hood River. Thank you Eugene!
