Stolen

My son Sean just had his bike minus front wheel stolen off the top of his

car while walking back and forth from the car loading cans into the

redemption center at the Gresham Fred Meyer. He swears he only had his eyes

off it for seconds. They left the front wheel inside the car. This bike

was not a spiffy bike. It was one of the old white Raleigh Pro Technium

frames with Ultegra parts and Ritchey pedals. It was left over from the Team

Oregon deal with Raleigh many years ago, probably before most of you started

bike racing. Sean figures he was riding on it for 7 years and I had it for

a few years before I turned it over to him.   It was a 50 cm frame, serial

number R934010051. The market value is not very high but the sentimental

value was significant. In addition, it was Sean's major form of

transportation in his current poor starving college student status. If you

see it, please nab it. If harm might come to the thief I don't think that

we would mind much.

Actually the bike was a bit small for Sean now anyhow. When he first

started riding on it he was only 14. The parts were getting worn. He

probably should have been looking to replace it anyhow. If you have a 52 cm

bike that you are looking to get rid of it appears that we will be in the

market. Let me know what you have.
