Some of the best advice Mikkel ever got from another junior racer was to bring a copy of his birth certificate to Nationals last year. If he had not had his birth certificate he would not have been able to race. Even though Mikkel had his USCF license he still need proof of his citizenship. (A passport will work also.)
In talking with someone this Sat. I discovered they did not understand that this would be required.
It has taken over a month for me to collect 6 birth certificates for my kids. Not a single parent could put their hands on one is less than an hour search. We had to go to the hall of records and getting new ones for 3 of the kids.
I have been told that a copy is fine you do not have to present the original.
Please get your proof of citizenship so you will have it to present at registration at Nationals.

Below is a quote from the rules:
"All new license applications must be accompanied by proof of citizenship (birth certificate or passport only) in order to be processed at registration.
USAC Annual licenses will be valid from date of purchase through December 31, 2004. Only athletes holding a valid annual license will be eligible to compete in National Championship races. No one-day licenses will be sold for National Championship races."
