Happy Friday Northwest Riders!
We hope all of you are ready for another great season of racing in the Pacific Northwest. We would like to remind all of you that the Gorge Roubaix and Gorge Gravel Grinder is fast approaching. We are just three weeks from race weekend. Saturday will once again be the amazing road race through the Columbia Gorge on the world class Gorge Scenic Highway and feature the legendary Rowena Loops. Sunday’s race courses have been modified so that you finish with a drag race through the streets of the Historic Downtown The Dalles finishing a block away from the beer and festivities at Clock Tower Ales.
Featuring one of the largest cash prize purses in the Northwest this year this is a must do weekend of racing. Courses feature a mix of beautiful asphalt and smooth packed gravel roads. Views, scenery and amazingly fun roads are all on tap. Just a reminder that anyone who signs up prior to March 15th will receive a free commemorative pint glass and beer plus take advantage of early pricing.
We have major lodging deals for you. Cousins Country Inn has great rooms. Make sure you call and let them know you are doing the race as they are offering an $89 room rate and a 2:00 PM check out for all participants. For more info check them out at http://www.cousinscountryinn.com/. Rooms are going fast so do not wait to reserve. Looking for a vacation rental that can accommodate the whole team? Try our other partner Hood River Vacation Rentals. Just 20 minute drive to the races they are also offering deals to riders. For more info check them out at http://www.hrvacations.com/. They have rentals that sleep up to 12.
Once again a huge thanks to Castelli for their tremendous support of the event. They will be supplying jerseys for the winners of the weekend. Best cumulative places for both days wins the coveted Castelli Gorge Roubaix Jersey. Give them a huge high five and thanks when you see them or better yet place your next order for team jerseys with them! Also a huge thanks to Clock Tower Ales for hosting the after party. Great beer, food and music will be on tap.
Those of you who are wanting the challenge of the ride but do not want to race be sure and sign up for Sunday’s Gorge Gravel Grinder. This awesome ride has two options. The Short Grind is 40 miles in length and the Big Grind covers the same course as the pro men. Plus get a stylish event shirt, commemorative pint glass, beer, and lunch in your package. Fully stocked aid stations will be along the route. We have something for everyone!
For all the details or to get signed up be sure and check us out at www.gorgeroubaix.com
Sincerely,
