Hey Guys...Gals, Juniors and Fat Bikers (7 so far) Yes this is a Series cat
at all series races, racing with the Clydesdales! 3.7 or larger tires!
With great weather and only 250 spots you will be treated to an unusually
high amount of trails on Private Property of Starker Forests. This is year
28 of the Mudslinger and year 22 of my personal love for chaos and old
logging road trails and some amazing vistas of the Oregon Coast Range.

Licenses....if you do not have an annual you can buy the day of the event
or day prior friday 3-6pm at Peak Sports. One day available also
Weather...looks great, in fact I have never seen a weather report this dry
before the Mudslinger....creepy!
With this being such a wet year its time to bust out your legs and come no
matter what shape you are in......really you will be better off to start
now versus having "enough training time" which never exists in reality.
20 miles or 11 and 3200 ft or 1600 ft and plenty of trails including some
of your old favorites! Long course does have quite a bit more trails and
climbing so pick your effort!
Course is 70% marked and the map is attached. New GPX for the long course
is posted as well at mudslingerxc.com. I will be out today after 1pm
finishing the marking before final check thursday.
The course is marked with Pink arrows, Yellow NO X signs and 2 multi-color
ribbons on the side of the turn and conformation markings after.
With 2 courses the hardest thing to explain is the course splits and since
MTB XC is on the honor system and riders love to trust riders leading
please make sure if you are on the short Course (Novice Cat 3 riders only)
to bear left or turn left at both course splits that will lead u to the
finish. I posted a pic of the first split at mile 3.4 @ripleyoutdoors on
twitter. The second one is after Collarbone alley to get to the Cut in
trail. Long course people stay right!

Packet pick up and reg friday at Peak Sports 3-6pm downtown Corvallis.
Packet pickup and last minute reg in the Blodgett Gym 7:30 am until 9:45am.
Some parking exists at the Blodgett Church and on the South Side of Old
Blodgett HWY.....signs and flaggers will guide you. Only 250 spots so reg
now
Safety
We have lane county search and rescue and a medic at the finish. Dips,
ruts, sasquatch abductions only a few of the things that can throw you off
your game and with dry trails the amount of crashes and speed increases. If
you see a Danger Ahead sign use caution as unless you have pre-ridden the
area and have a free permit from Starker or have done the Test of Endurance
or previous Mudslingers....you know anything can happen. We will get to you
as soon as possible and in the case of a serious injury it does take 2 hrs
to get search and rescue to your position on trail after being dispatched
so make reasonable choices!
Pay special attention to the fact that the area could have vehicles on
course working and corners are blind in some cases especially for the long
course after mile 13.
The area has quite a bit of salvage logging and haul out of trees from the
2014 Winter Ice storm! You will have 3 trees or so to hope over and within
a few weeks after this event the area should be ready for normal forest
activities and trails!
Make sure to check on downed riders....smile for the photographer on
relentless trail when you are looking fresh....this trail is new to the
mudslinger and recently logged so some crazy dips exist for drainage that
will make you endo if you do not slow down and exercise caution on the long
course at mile 5.5
Dont be too scared on Carls Adventure......sasquatch is the only one to
give you a hug! Steep pitches and dark!
Novice riders and long course....watch your speed on the rocky Super tree
trail mile 2.75l and also Collarbone alley. Supertree is so early and after
a climb the first decent always makes me nervous for you!
Special thanks!
Starker Forests. Make sure to say thank you on their facebook page..
..post your pic and without
Starker Forests the adventure would not be possible.
