I really love my Oakleys. Not cheap though.

I had Rudy Projects for years and switched over to Oakleys, which have been better performers for me. Lighter and I prefer their lens technology.
I didn't have a great experience with Hillsdale/ABC but have had great dealings with EyeHealth NW.

So I bit the bullet and got a prescription sunglasses this summer, using a frame similar to my ordinary everyday frames. I am much happier this way, and I didn't miss the wraparound part. What I found was that these were most useful against general glare, strong sun, and low sun ahead.

I have prescription Rudy Project glasses.  My vision & astigmatism is bad enough that I can't use the lens inserts because they'd be too thick.  Even with the prescription lenses, I was told that my options were a pair of Rudy Projects or Oakleys.  They were the only frames that could handle the thick lenses.  I went with the Rudy Projects because they had removable lenses.  I still have them and they work just fine.  I should probably get new lenses because I'm sure my prescription has changed since then.

It's been a while but I thought I got them at Hillsdale Eye.  At one time, they were offering discounts to OBRA members, which was basically the equivalent of having insurance.  It looks like it is called ABC Vision Source now.  Not sure if the discount offer is still there though.

FWIW, I have a strong prescription, too and so used the Bolle and then the Rudy's with the inserts for years. I did it so I could get a wraparound lens, which I cannot do in purely prescription lenses. Recently I find that having the two surfaces makes it hard o see clearly -- bothers my eyes.

I am sure there are some super options. I have two pair that work fine for me. A pair of old school Rayban that protect my eyes from debris and do not fog hardly ever. They are my favorite. I also have a pair of Rudy Project with yellow lenses I use in low light. They work great for that. Good luck.

I'm looking to replace my old school Bolle glasses that have a double lens setup with an outer non-prescription lens and an inner prescription one. I'd like one that uses a single lens.

Does anyone have recommendations for brands/retailers?

Thank you!
