And helmet mounts are not good for short course formats. They blind riders
on the other side of the cones/tape. Lights should point closer to your
wheel than you would mountain biking. Has worked well at Blind Date after
we all stopped wearing headlamps.

I'm heading out to PIR for the race tonight and I'm wondering about lighting. Is it needed? Recommended? Bar lights only or are helmet mounts ok? I'll be racing at 8:20.
