Trophy Cup Reminders

Some Trophy Cup reminders for everybody out there anxiously awaiting the fun stuff.

We will be having a kick-off party & number pick up at Breadwinner Cycles (2323 N Williams Ave) Thursday August 31st from 5-8pm. We will be serving beer or coffee for those teetotalers. Not registering for the series? Still come and pick up your number (and hang out with us), itll make day of registration that much easier.

I was out yesterday and while I'm not all that surprised by the amount of traffic nearby, I think it needs to be said that whatever you can do to keep from driving to the race will make you A LOT happier. Ride out, MAX out and catch a ride home, whatever you need to do to keep from adding to that mess with help. I'd hate to have folks miss their start time because they were stuck in their car.

The most exciting part of this year's series IMHO, Inhabit Portland has generously sponsored the Junior races meaning that all Juniors race Trophy Cup for free this season!

Who else gets to race for free you ask? Are you from out of town? How far out of town? If you live 150 miles from PIR, you get to race for free. You traveled all the way here, I just think you ought to come out and race.

Metropolis Cycles will be at the races each week providing neutral support for all racers. Get a flat on the way to the races? Let your buddy work on your bike last week and now it doesn't shift right? They'll have you covered.

Gladys Bikes and the Cross Curious Club will be hosting a clinic before the racing starts each night to get new riders ready for the season. Clinic skills will build each week and be specific to the challenges of that weeks course but you can drop in to one or all them. Info can be found on the site: http://www.portlandtrophycup.com/clinic/

A reminder of the schedule change this season. Gone are the 2/3 races (too much confusion) and we now have a single speed womens and 50+ mens category. Weve also made the mens race 40 minutes instead of 35. Heres the full schedule:

Due to this being a week day race, it is HIGHLY recommend that you pre-reg
to save time the day of the race. To incentive this, pre-reg cost is $18
per race or $90 for the series. Race day registration is $22 per race.
You can pre-reg for the season or individual nights on our site at http://www.portlandtrophycup.com/register/ or at the kick-off party.

Volunteers are always needed for teardown after the nights racing and for course marshalls during the races. You can sign up on the website at http://www.portlandtrophycup.com/volunteer/ and your nights racing entry will be covered.

As always, we'll have great food and drink for everybody. We'll have Tamale Boy serving delicious food to all the hungry racers and anybody that came out to watch the races. Back for the fourth season will be Gigantic Brewing, serving up quality IPA and Klsch at the Motocross Cafe. Come for the racing, stay for food and a beer!

Keep up to date with everything weve got going on at our website or on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram.

Cool?
