BLIND DATE reschedule....

I have never been a fan of fireworks, especially people doing stupid things with them. As much as this is an inconvenient truth for us....lets hope there are little to no injuries and loss of property for those around the fires. Saying “I am sorry” just does not carry much weight when this much damage is done to nature and people. We are fortunate compared to others in the direct path.
Thanks to you Tony, Clint and Cara for thinking of not just the racers, but others.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] BLIND DATE reschedule....

After eight years of the series we've run into plenty of issues. We've raced through thunderstorms, vicious hornets, major construction re-routes, and equipment difficulties of every flavor. Remember when we did a six race series completely on accident? Or when the excavator operator had to move steel plates before he went home so I could set a course? We've pounded stakes with broken bones, borrowed everything from shovels to tractors, and called in more favors than we could ever repay to pull the race off under sub-optimal conditions.

Well, this week we face a challenge that there is simply no work-around. The EPA air quality index is straight up "unhealthy" due to the fires ravaging the region. Our friends at Alpenrose have graciously allowed us to reschedule the series one week back, so our official new start date is Wed, Sep 13th. We will still have 5 races, final being Oct 11th. I'm waiting for confirmation from the officiating staff, but thus far we are a go.

If this creates a conflict, please let us know and we'll happily issue a refund. I'm working on a way to get the season pass holders their fresh Castelli/Blind Date gloves before the series, as they are too good to sit in boxes this weekend.

Thanks for understanding, feel free to check in with any concerns.

Yours, Tony and Joe.

Agreed. The promoters we have are fantastic and being able to work with their venues and modify the calendar so everyone is safe is an excellent move.

Hopefully Het Meer will happen this weekend and the week night stuff can begin in earnest next week.

Thanks.
Dave

Next week sounds a lot more race-friendly. Thanks to both the Blind Date and Trophy Cup promoters for working around a terrible situation.
