We are going to get together and talk about the velodrome!

Are you interested in being a part of the volunteer committee that makes
track racing happen? Please show up and throw your hat into the ring! We
will be electing committee members to perform the following functions:
Membership coordinator
-recruiting new members
-PVC membership dues (if we go that way)
-junior development
Scheduling coordinator
-takes the lead in creating a racing schedule
-coordinates with other Alpenrose users
-helps OBRA coordinator with staffing track events
Track class
-coordinates instructors for weekly track classes
-leading track classes
Advertising/sign sponsorship
-mostly coordinating sign advertising for the back straight
-finding new sign sponsors
Web/social media coordinator
-updates website and updates social media regularly
Rental bike maintenance
-maintains rental bikes
-can be coordinated effort with manager
Treasurer
-skilled position for someone with accounting/QB experience
-will share oversight of funds with manager
Positions will be two year terms.
There will also be a track manager position:
Manager/director
-coordinates efforts of committee members, takes care of items missed by
committee members
-track maintenance
-other duties as assigned and/or necessary
-some small compensation, depending on funding (membership fees?)
This position is not elected every two years, and is intended to give some
continuity to the leadership at the track. Ultimately this position will be
decided by the committee.
For this meeting, voting will be simple majority show of hands. Voting
rights will be one of the topics we discuss at the meeting.
We got off to a bit of a rough start this year, but ended up having a fun
and successful season. I know many of you have ideas for the velodrome, and
this will be the time to voice them and to step forward and make it happen.
2018 is right around the corner!
