Wow. That is *really* disappointing.
First we have someone---potentially from the OBRA community---stealing OBRA equipment, and now we have someone---almost definitely from the OBRA community---pulling a shit move like this.
Whoever you are, in each case, you are serious assholes.
To the rest of us: if the person doesn't have the basic decency to come forward and make reparations, we should still take it on ourselves to make it right. I'd personally feel pretty embarrassed to be associated with OBRA if we end up with a reputation for bringing this kind of behavior to someone's door and not taking care of it.

It's nice to see people who had nothing to do with the vandalism, are willing to pitch in.
However, the paint on his car is scratched on every panel and the passenger side was badly keyed. There is permanent marker that won't come off.
Unfortunately, it is going to take more than a car detailing to fix. He has already tried to buff the scratches out with no success.
What really needs to happen, is the person(s) who did the damage to come forward (privately is okay), and help with the costs associated.
I'm not sure how to post a photo to this mailing list. But if anyone wants to see the damage, I have pictures I can send you. It is really bad.
