Fun idea! I'd happily give it a try.

Thank you, Gregg, for bringing Zwift into the OBRA chat. Coincidentally, a version of what you are suggesting is coming together behind the scenes. OBRA and Zwift are talking and some competitive, fun events maybe coming soon. Stay tuned!
I’d try it. Early mornings best. Thanks!

I think it'd be fun to try it out and would be interested. A Monday or Tuesday morning 6am race? One thing though, the Zwift category system is wonky or maybe I'm out of shape. I gutted myself in a 1 hour category C "group ride" for an 8th place finish. I got dropped, even though I was at or above what I thought was my threshold for the first 25 minutes. So the good news there is my fitness is better than expected, not summer shape, but not terrible either. Should I just set my weight at 125lbs so that I can keep up? ;)

On Zwift I weigh 122lbs.
I'd get in on that!

Hey OBRAland-
I am sure most of you are familiar with Zwift. I just learned WSBA has put together a weekly Zwift race series. Winners can only be from their membership, Zwift is open so non members could race in the events however WSBA will only award their members.
I think this a real cool idea. They have cats broken down using Zwift's cat system. A's= Cat 1-2, B's Cat 2-3 and some 4's, C's Cat 4, D Cat 5, this can be tweaked a bit.
What I am curious is whether other OBRA members would be interested in this. I really think this would be a neat way to still have some competition among our membership when there is no real racing going on. The other aspect that is great about this, we know approximately how well each of us performs so the likelihood of people representing power #'s that aren't them is significantly reduced.
If others would like to try this idea I would be interested in creating a weekly series. I already run one weekly race on Mondays in the AM https://www.teamodz.com/magnummondayz/, so setting up a series wouldn't be difficult. I would expect these to be any where from 45 mins to 1 hr 15ish.
So if folks have interest please let me know, I have the following questions:
What day time would be best?
How long would you want the race to be?
Would you be willing to pay a reg fee if fees went back to series winners? If so how much?
Other ideas/thoughts on this?
Thanks everyone,
Gregg Magnus
