We are making some changes in the weekly track racing that will, hopefully,

make for more participation and give everyone an opportunity to do more of

the type of races they prefer.

New for 2004

- FRIDAYS NOT JUST FOR MASTERS ANY LONGER

Fast Twitch Fridays May through August except 6/18 (Six Day), 7/16 (AVC),

8/6 (Pedal Crit), 8/20 (State Championships)- Open to all categories of

riders. These races will feature match Sprints and sprint oriented mass

start events. There will be separate none sprint races, for beginners (Cat

4 women and Cat 5 men) most nights. If you are just starting racing bikes

this will be the place to go. Racing starts at 6:30 PM. Bike Central is

organizing this. Contact them at 503 227-4439 or

bike-c-@bike-central.com. Look for an official e-flyer soon.

- Junior races - Fridays June through July. These races will be held just

prior to the adult races starting at 6:00 PM. The person in charge will be

James Newman, (503) 774-9702 or newm-@hotmail.com.

-Thursday races - There will no longer be Sprint Nights on Thursdays. The

first 3 nights will focus on the timed events; Kilo/500M TT, Pursuit, 200M

TT. After that all the racing will be mass start racing. The first

Thursday of each month will be scheduled with a single long points race for

each group. Other nights will have 3 races for each group and a Madison.

After the first week in September there will be a single Madison only. Look

for an official e-flyer soon.
