I'm sure they do have a reason for running a race of (checks last years results) 13 starters for an extra hour all by themselves late into the afternoon.
What I'm saying is that those reasons, whatever they may be, are resulting in a potential lame experience for those gals, volunteers, and spectators. The top level gals deserve a prime time race slot in the morning with the other long race.
On the few occasions I have had to contact promoters regarding schedules,
safety issues, etc, they have been fairly responsive, and believe it or
not, often have legitimate reasons for schedules, prize formats, rider
input, attendance and resources that they would be happy to share with you.
