Tomorrow's PDX Short Track Race # 7 - Some updates!

Hey everyone,

A couple updates ahead of tomorrow's second-to-last night of Short Track racing.

----

1) Yes, more hot weather in the forecast, but don't let that get to you!

It looks like we've entered the dog days of summer, but - as the 280 racers who were out there last week can testify - you shouldn't let that keep you from coming out and race your bike tomorrow! Like last week, we will start and finish under the trees and our set-up crew will design a flowy course that maximizes both the shade and the fun. We might even throw in an optional "sprinkler alley" out on the grass field (at the NE side of the course) for those who love getting some "aquatic relief" while racing. In addition, our food station will be stacked with ice-cooled water AND will serve FREE LEMONADE to all racers! And the PIR concession stand will be open and offer HUB beer and other cold beverages.

UPDATE: given the weather and the fact that many of our racers will still be recovering from some epic riding this past weekend (by the way, congrats to all Short Track racers who finished the High Cascade 100 yesterday!), we decided to take a pass on the Holeshot Competition we had originally scheduled for tomorrow. If you are one of those fast cats who was looking forward to starting your race tomorrow with a harrowing sprint, we are sorry to let you down. However, all the prizes we had reserved for the Holeshot competition (including a bunch of classic short track tees) will be added to the prize pool of our weekly raffle tomorrow. Which basically means that if you come race tomorrow, you will double your chances of being among our last batch of weekly raffle winners!
