Oh ma'am! I am surely doomed to spend the rest of my life in PC hell.

I know of one person that did talk to you after the race. He had very

positive comments about you.

Thanks for taking the time to help with the races.

Ok, Nick, so noted, and I thought your comment about using the support

vehicle to pace you in for a 20th-place finish was funny.

I just don't want to be accused of yelling, and you're also forgiven for

innocently thinking I'm a sir when I'm really a ma'am. Its my dad's

fault for naming me like that.

You are correct, sir. It really was humorous to me. I didn't intend

the story to be a comment on the officials or the support personell.

May I politely point out an error in your statement. The yelling was

done by the driver of the support vehicle and not by the official.

Just an observation. Didn't the Men's Cat 4/5 field pass the Women's

field last year. I was off the back of the 4/5 field last year and I

went back and forth with them for awhile. They dropped me on the flat.

On the last lap, I caught up to them again at the finish with a group of

4 guys. That group grew to 8 because we had to loaf at less than 15mph

behind the women's support vehicle until they had finished. All of us

were out of contention so it wasn't a big deal.

The funny part was that we got yelled at by an official for drafting

behind the support vehicle. Nothing like a 15mph pace car to rest the

legs for the sprint for 20th place. Damn cheaters.

Anyway, the finish is not the issue. I understand why we were held

back. It must be difficult for officials and support vehicles when a

field overtakes another cat field.

Lord! Please let me not be flamed for bringing this up. I work for the

UofO. I am hypersensitive to cultural and gender issues.
