Question on Cycling Team/Club

Hi, Brett.

Socializing with teams that interest you is a good idea. It is a good way to get to know the people on the team and for them to get to know you. Also, some teams have "meet the team" rides. These rides generally get posted to the OBRA chat as that is a good way for the teams to reach out to the bike racing community. Watch here on the chat for those rides.

At this page, http://obra.org/teams, you will find a list of active OBRA bike racing teams. Most teams have a link to their website or social media page. All teams have a team leader with contact information. That team leader will be able to let you know when the team is open to accepting new team riders.

You can also go to skills clinics. Here you will be taught essential group riding skills, meet other riders, and find out about group rides. Teams watch new racers and will sometimes swoop in to recruit.

Thanks for racing and have fun!

Catherine

Howdy,

I am interested in getting involved in a cycling club/team. I am a longtime recreational rider but don't have any experience riding or training with a team. I am not really sure how to break into it besides walking up to a team tent with friendly looking folks and asking if they are looking for folks to join. I guess I could do that, but it seems kinda inefficient. Is there a place on the OBRA site where teams would post openings?
