We are so excited to return to Bend for another super fun weekend of racing!
Saturday Race #5 - USA Cycling Sanctioned (ACXC)
In order to encourage participation in this USA Cycling sanctioned event, The Cyclocross Crusade will cover the cost of all one-day licenses required. Any rider wishing to earn USA Cycling Results and Ranking points (particularly those interested in racing the Cyclocross National Championships) will need to purchase an annual license from USAC in order to be eligible to earn these points.
What this means for you: You will register as you normally do for any other Cyclocross Crusade race. If you have a USA Cycling License, please show it when you check in at the race. If you do not, you will need to fill out a one-day USA Cycling license form when you check in at the race.
Sunday Race #6 - Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) Sanctioned -- Team Competition: Costumes!
A Cyclocross Crusade Tradition! The official costume race is Sunday (NO costumes Saturday - that race is sanctioned by USA Cycling and we don't want them to know what we are really up to). Prizes for best individual and team costumes. Keep it appropriate for our community (See Code of Conduct http://www.crosscrusade.com/code-of-conduct/). Winners will be announced at 4:15 at the last podium ceremony on Sunday.
Important information to help you plan your weekend in Bend:
TEAM TENTS:
--Team tents can be set up beginning 4:00 on Friday
--Team tents are only allowed in the following areas: in the expo area (the North lot where registration is located) and the main parking lot (on the South side of the the brewery). If in doubt, please ask someone on the crew where you can set up
--All tents must be staked and weighted down. Do not leave valuables in your team tents overnight (or at your own risk)
--Team tents are not allowed on the Deschutes Brewery side of the course/property (anywhere on the grass or above the bowl)
--Please leave a 4 ft. space between team tents and the race course. We need to have a walkway for pedestrians along the side of the course and PLEASE make sure tents are staked/weighted down
OTHER ITEMS TO NOTE:
--The course will not be open for pre-ride until 4:00 pm on Friday. This is very important as the brewery will still be operating until 4:00 pm
--Pre-registration will be available at Crow's Feet Commons in Downtown Bend on Friday from 3:00pm - 6:00pm
--Please obey all "no parking" zones. Do not use these areas to unload your gear/team tents. These zones must be kept clear at all times
--No camping allowed at the venue. For ideas on where to camp or stay, please check out the Visit Bend website https://www.visitbend.com/where-to-stay/
The third and final Crusade XC run will take place Saturday at 4:30. Thank you to adidas for sponsoring this run series and providing fantastic prizes to those who step on the podium!
We hope you have a wonderful time in Bend! Deschutes Brewery is going all out this year with huge parties that you will not want to miss on Friday AND Saturday nights!
